France to build solar battery system highway 5 million European

The solar cell pavement is a bit like the elements in science fiction, and in fact we can now enjoy the well-being of the future - and of course at least you have to live in France. (Here, the "battery" is not a storage device, but the transducer equipment)

Recently, in the small town of Tourouvre-au-Perche in Normandy, France, the world's first solar cell road was put into trial operation. The 5 million euro (36.35 million yuan) highway is just 2.8 meters wide and 1,000 meters long, which theoretically provides the electricity needed by the 3,400 people in the town.

What needs to be specially explained is that there are two major categories of technologies for laying power facilities on the road today. The first is to lay the solar panels on the road surface (using the lighting area of the road) and the second is to fill the grid with electricity Electric car (mobile wireless charging), the technology involved in this article is the first. As for the black technology that mixes the two technologies, look for it in science fiction.

This piece of funding, funded by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, the road that the Colas Group is responsible for building and operating, now named "Wattway," is undoubtedly a tribute to the First Industrial Revolution Great hero James Watt salute. The road is expected to be commissioned for two years and 2,000 cars will pass by Wattway daily. Colas Group is confident that the solar panels will not be damaged, no matter whether cars or trucks are compacted.

The future is bright, but the doubt is still there:

1. Wattway's manufacturing cost is 13 times that of a solar roof and the use of sloped roof solar panels is clearly more efficient in the Normandy region north of the Tropic of Cancer (around 49 N)

2, the official claimed that the friction to maintain the conventional state, but after the surface wear solar panels conversion efficiency seems unknown;

3, the official claimed that solar panels can be installed directly on the existing pavement, but the existing pavement is not flat;

4, solar cell power conversion is very obvious limitations, rainy days or night time, or the need for traditional nuclear power, thermal power plants to supplement or even replace.
